Drink Your Salad!! - Our mornings always start with a Green Smoothie. It's an easy way to get lots of good greens into our day without too much fight from the kids. This recipe is just our basic one, but varying it to fit your taste is really easy. This recipe makes 2 quarts, and we make it our trusty BlendTec. LOVE that blender!
Ingredients
- 3 cups Water
- 1-2 bunches Kale, Spinach or Collard Greens - washed and trimmed
- 1 lg Avocado
- 1/4 cup Coconut Oil - gently melted
- 1 ripe Banana
- Frozen Fruit
- Whey Pro Complete (Optional)
Directions
Place Water and Greens in blender jar and puree. Add Avocado and Banana and puree again. While the blender is going, add the melted Oil. Add as much or as little Frozen Fruit as desired for your taste. Our favorites are frozen Pineapple and Strawberries. Puree again, adding more water if needed for your texture preference. Add a heaping scoop of Whey Pro and just pulse it to blend.
